Explaining the Memento Mori Photography Contest

In this contest, NAT PHOTO SOCIETY seeks Memento Mori images, and photographers are invited to explore the theme creatively.
Memento Mori is a Latin phrase meaning “remember that you must die.” This serves as a reminder that beings are mortal and life is impermanent. Let the philosophy behind this inspire you in numerous ways, through the photography of decay. Skeleton photography is not about the dead, it could be a way to show the beauty in the discarded or the fading. Bring in your perspectives and transform the world of dissolution. Capture fleeting moments through fungi photography, and undeniable grace through lines of age on human skin. Step into the realm of reverence and make us a part of it through the photography of decay.

Our jury members decide the winners of this prestigious photography contest. While this is a broad theme, the jury would still like to welcome the creative take of all photographers.
